Arthur Albert Mosher 

Art Mosher was born in Faribault, Minnesota on March 22, 1896, to Orson Mosher and Kate Vita. He was the second to last child born, and had 8 siblings, 3 sisters and 5 brothers, all born in Faribault. His parents moved to Waterloo in about 1908.

In 1915 he was living with his parents and younger brother George at 200 Linden Avenue, and working as a clerk at Mosher Brother’s Grocery Store, 1950 Lafayette St. in Waterloo.

Art registered for the WWI draft on June 5, 1917, at the age of 21, he enlisted on July 26, 1917 and was discharged on December 7, 1918 with pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic active. In 1931, at the age of 35, and he was admitted to the US National Homes for Disabled Volunteers in Leavenworth, Kansas for tuberculosis treatment.

At the age of 23 Art married Anna Lucille Lininger, 21, on August 12, 1919 in Faribault, Minnesota. They returned to Waterloo and lived as boarders with George Crane at 1019 Washington. 

In the 1925 Census Art is living at 202 Linden Avenue with Lucille, Thelma and Roger, next door to Art’s mother Kate.

In the 1930 census he is living at 1130 Hammond Avenue with Lucille, Thelma, Roger and Jackson and working as a dairy salesman for Carnation Farm Products. The census shows that they rented their home for $35. a month and had a radio. In the 1935 census the family is living at 103 Alta Vista Avenue, and in the 1940 census he was a manager at Fairway Dairy. In the 1950 census Art was a metal fabricator at a construction machinery manufacturer. 

Art died on August 10, 1973 at the age of 77 in a hospital in Waterloo Iowa, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery with Lucille. Causes of deaths were listed as cardio-respiratory failure, chronic obstructive lung disease, and arteriosclerotic heart disease.
